They AIN'T the Mavs without Dirk! and a few others..

Of course having the big German out is problem no. 1 for the Mavs, but problems 1a and 1b are named Butler and Beaubois. The mavericks have quickly flat-lined in the absence of Nowitzki and are praying for the speediest of speediest recoveries which looks imminent within the next couple of games. Word is he may even try it out for the showdown with San Antonio. The question now is even with Dirk back, is that enough to get this team jump-started back up? Beaubois is an electric slasher that can light a fire under the seat of this team, but who knows when he is coming back? Also, I think they're going to have a much tougher time replacing Butler's 15 ppg average than they think. But an overlooked stat that I think is biting the Mavs in the butt is the fact that Butler was a minute eater at 30 minutes per game. You're asking a lot of back-ups to perform like starters when the simple fact is they AREN'T! The moral of this story is depth, and the Mavs don't have it.

Word to the wise:  don't expect Mark Cuban to sit around and twiddle his thumbs. He is a man of action and I expect some coming up soon.

Michael Vick.....What the hell are you doing????

I can understand your pain. After all, you did just throw the pick to end your super bowl aspirations of the 2010-2011 season. But a strip joint? really??? How soap opera can you get? Although, it would be nice to roll up into an establishment with unlimited wads of green in your pockets. But dude, time and place.

Reports are coming out (giggity) that M.V. was spotted at a gentleman's establishment hours after the Eagle's loss to Green Bay at HOME....hahaha to all you eagle fans. He reportedly spent one hour in a VIP room with not one, but two strippers.

While not against the law, there's no doubt in my mind that he spent one hour in an enclosed room with two naked ladies and didn't want the full service treatment. I'm pretty sure prostitution violates some condition of his parole, oh wait IT'S ILLEGAL! Is sex the new chill pill for stress?? If so, I'll have what he's having!

Oh yeah go Stars...leading Edmonton 1-0 almost at 2nd intermission.

And be on the lookout for Jim Thome news regarding the Texas Rangers. Could Michael Young be on the move??

And So it Begins

This is my first blog so bear with me. By no means do I claim to be a journalist, but I do believe that I have some pretty good opinions.
Keep in mind, I said OPINIONS!!  Ya know, like assholes and excuses, everyone has one and they all stink. Please express yours, and I will express mine. This is not a yes or no, right or wrong forum.
If you couldn't tell by now, This is a sports blog, but that doesn't mean politics, money, history, science, and any other Trivial Pursuit category is off limits though. But first and foremost, I live and die by the buzzer, final whistle, "ballgame", or whatever other cliche` ending to a sports event you can think of. Today, I want to start with that horrible display of football that some call the National "Championship" (later blog) that I saw last night:
  1.             What the hell happened to football? I can't begin to name you ONE formation that I saw either offense line up in last night. Oregon looks like they're running an arena football offense, and Auburn huddles five feet from the line of scrimmage. How did Oregon NOT know what they were going run on the next play?
  2.             Oh yeah, Oregon did know. Auburn was going to hand it off to Dyer, who by the way shows an incredible future and he will definitely be the dominant running back in the SEC, if not the nation, in two years. Probably sooner.
  3.            Where the hell was that guy that I heard about ALL YEAR. What was his name again....oh yeah sCam Newton.
  4.             My GOD Lou Holtz....RETIRE!!!! and Brent Musberger shouldn't be too far behind. Really Brent??? That stadium is where the Phoenix Cardinals play??
  5.             TCU would have had a field day with either one of those teams. They beat a team that posted  530 points during the regular season. How many points did they score in the Rose Bowl? 19. Enough said.
In the words of my good friend Forrest Gump, that's about all I have to say about that.

Until next time.....it's whatever
